Loophole found. Planning Approved.
18 months ago, we submitted an application to convert an HMO block into 2no. 2xbedroom flats. This was refused as the proposed rear extension and roof conversion was deemed to be “out of character for the area” (see photo for reality check).
By undertaking a detailed planning history and policy study, we decided to play the long game and late last year we gained approval for the change of use and conversion into flats WITHOUT the extensions.
We have now gained approval for the rear extension and roof conversion, as was originally approved (insert facepalm emoji).
Finally, the client has achieved exactly what they wanted.
